About Petro Lopata

Petro Lopata is a Ukrainian Canadian visual artist, with unbridled passion for life, nature and paint. His art is expressive yet laconic, and he creates complex harmonies in rich, subtle hues. Petro explores the world through colour and light, capturing raw moments in time. He is based near the southernmost point in Canada, where luminous vistas fuel lush landscapes. Petro was a member of the artist-run co-operative Beaux-Arts Brampton 2015-17 and served as its Director of Marketing 2015-16.

Petro studied at the Trush College of Art (Lviv, Ukraine), and Ontario College of Art and Design (Toronto, Canada). His works have been prized by collectors across Europe and North America since the 1990s and his artworks are in the public collections of the Taras Shevchenko Museum (Toronto, Canada) and the National Museum of Ukraine in Lviv (Lviv, Ukraine). Petro Lopata is a member of the Arts Society of Kingsville and Leamington Arts Centre.
